My husband has a Lieutenant Colonel Daniel T Coleman who had ground in Union & Jackson county Illinois in about 1812. I am not sure if this is the same Daniuel T Coleman who fought fir Virginia. I found a land record that shows his wife as Judah. If you can help me I would appreciate it. Thank You, Susan
Susan: No he is not the one who commanded a regiment in Virginia. The Virginia Lt Col Daniel Coleman was born 7 Jun 1768 and died 8 Apr 1860 and is buried in the Coleman Family cemetery in Java in Pittsylvania County, VA. He married Ann Payne Harrison and was the son of Stephen Coleman. He was an express rider in the Revolutionary War just before the officially ended in 1783
